Tax transcript codes are posted by 9:00 pm EST on weekdays and 10:00 pm EST on Thursday. You should be able to see updates an hour or two after that day’s deadline.

The Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) is an independent organization within the IRS whose employees assist taxpayers who are experiencing economic harm, who are seeking help in resolving tax problems that have not been resolved through normal channels, or who believe that an IRS system or procedure is not working as it should.

Every effort must be made to review, correct, and disposition notices in the current cycle to minimize negative impact to the taxpayer. All notices should be worked as soon as the requested information or document(s) are received to minimize any further delay to the taxpayer. An OLNR “Online Held Notices Report” will be produced weekly to track the number of notices held beyond the cycle.
