This transcript shows basic data, including marital status, type of return filed, adjusted gross income and taxable income. Wage & Income Transcript Wage and Income Transcripts show data from information returns, such as W-2s, 1099s and 1098s, reported to the IRS. Most recent year information may not be complete until July. Please note the Wage and Income Transcript may not show up till July but if your return has been approved you should see data for the current tax year in all of the other 3 options for 2014. As an independent organization within the IRS, TAS helps taxpayers resolve problems with the IRS and recommends changes to prevent future problems. TAS fulfills its statutory mission by working with taxpayers to resolve problems with the IRS. TAS case acceptance criteria fall into four main categories: Economic Burden.. Economic burden cases are those involving a financial difficulty to the taxpayer: an IRS action or inaction has caused or will cause negative financial consequences or have a long-term adverse impact on the taxpayer. Criteria 1: The taxpayer is experiencing economic harm or is about to suffer economic harm. Criteria 2: The taxpayer is facing an immediate threat of adverse action. Criteria 3: The taxpayer will incur significant costs if relief is not granted (including fees for professional representation). Criteria 4: The taxpayer will suffer irreparable injury or long-term adverse impact if relief is not granted. Systemic Burden – Systemic burden cases are those in which an IRS process, system, or procedure has failed to operate as intended, and as a result the IRS has failed to timely respond to or resolve a taxpayer issue. EITC Awareness Day: Many Workers May Not Know of Significant IRS Benefit

The Internal Revenue Service is partnering with community-based organizations across the country to promote Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day, an effort to alert millions of low and moderate-income workers who may be missing out on a significant tax credit that can be as much as $6,000. Millions of workers who earned $52,427 or less last year may qualify for EITC for the first time in 2015, making awareness of the credit critical. About a third of the people eligible for EITC fluctuate each year based on changes to their marital, parental and financial status. All across the United States, local officials and community organizations are holding events highlighting this key benefit. “About four out of five eligible workers and families get the credit they earned. That leaves millions missing EITC every year,” said IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. “It’s an important credit and one of the government’s best tools to fight poverty.” Last year, almost 28 million eligible workers and families received $66 billion total in EITC, with an average EITC amount of $2,400. The Internal Revenue Service today warned taxpayers about groups masquerading as a charitable organization to attract donations from unsuspecting contributors, one of the “Dirty Dozen” for the 2015 filing season. “When making a donation, taxpayers should take a few extra minutes to ensure their hard-earned money goes to legitimate and currently eligible charities,” said IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. “IRS.gov has the tools taxpayers need to check out the status of charitable organizations.”
